Best Breakfast Sandwich in the City

Cake and the Beanstalk

Who doesn't love a good breakfast sandwich? My favorite in the city is from my favorite local cafe, Cake and the Beanstalk.

My sister, Catherine and I went because she wanted to come here one last time since she moved out of Philly for a new job. She is truly going to miss everyone at Cake and the Beanstalk!

The reason why we love this sandwich so much is because of the roasted red pepper. It really brings a nice flavor to the meal other than your typical bacon, egg and cheese.

You can get this breakfast on either a bagel, croissant or toast. I got the croissant this time and enjoyed it very much. It was the perfect fuel to start the day!

Thank you as always, Cake and the Beanstalk!

It's Peach Season All Around!

Cake and Beanstalk & Eat a Pita
August not only means that summer is coming to an end, but it also means it’s the last chance to savor nature’s sweetest fruits, peaches! I feel like everywhere I go, peaches are being featured within the item of the month.
I recently went to two of my favorite places to indulge in their delicious peach items: Cake and the Beanstalk and Eat a Pita.
Cake and the Beanstalk is my go to place for a quick pick me up of coffee or to stop in for a delicious, homemade treat! I went the other afternoon when my mom came to visit because I wanted to try their new peach cake. This slice of cake was so refreshing with the taste of fresh peaches paired with peach cream cheese frosting! My mom got a bagel with cream cheese. But when she tried the cake, we both agreed that the icing was amazing and tasted just right with the amount of cream cheese flavor!
The second day of my mom visiting, we went to one of our favorite places for lunch, Eat a Pita. My mom built her own pita of chicken curry salad, but I tried the August special which was the grilled peach salad. This salad included: grilled peaches, “all the veggies”, bleu cheese, watercress and toasted pistachios. This was honestly the best salad I have ever had! I loved the unique blend of all the ingredients and it was the perfect summer salad. What really made this salad was the bleu cheese!
August has just begun, so make sure you stop by your local spots to see their incorporation of peaches this month!
I can’t wait to go home this weekend for the Peach Festival in Peddler’s Village! If you are around in Bucks County, the Peach Festival & Sidewalk Sale is August 9th-10h from 10AM-6PM. I am looking forward to live entertainment, summer sales and fresh local peaches with homemade treats! I am also going to Manoff Market Gardens for their peaches & black berries! Blog post to follow : )

Hot Chocolate Floats

Cake and the Beanstalk

What I love about the local cafe, Cake and the Beanstalk is not only their homemade, delicious desserts, but how they bring in different treats with Philly's own, Franklin Fountain Ice-Cream!

For example, their M&M blondie sandwich with Franklin Fountain's vanilla ice-cream in the center is to die for! I think I have found my new favorite though. Cake and the Beanstalk's newest creation are Hot Chocolate Floats!

A Hot Chocolate Float includes your choice of ice-cream flavor (I chose vanilla), homemade chocolate syrup and steamed milk with whipped cream! This dessert is so comforting because you get the warmth of the hot chocolate and the love of ice-cream all in one.

This is what I love most about Cake and the Beanstalk. It's my go to place. I know whenever I go there, any coffee and dessert will cheer me up! It's a very homey cafe with a friendly staff that welcomes you all the time. They are proud of their business and want you to enjoy their product. Their authentic, yummy deserts make you want to come back to try more!

So embrace the cold and try a Hot Chocolate Float!

After Dinner Delight

Cake and the Beanstalk

I am pretty sure I am in Cake and the Beanstalk once a week and this article will prove why!

Their homemade desserts are to die for! Last night I tried “Blood of the Englishman” and it was amazing. If you’re a true strawberry fan, you’ll love this!

This creation features Franklin Fountain’s strawberry ice-cream, house-made strawberry pound cake, whipped cream and cherries! Between all these ingredients, it is so sweet!

I went with my little brother after we attended Magic Gardens! Cake and the Beanstalk is a great café to go to wind down, relax with great company!

What’s best is now Cake and the Beanstalk is open until 10pm! It’s a perfect place to have a sweet treat after dinner : )

A Solution to my Two Weaknesses: Coffee and Ice-cream

Cake and the Beanstalk

I just found the solution to my two weaknesses = coffee and ice cream! Cake and the Beanstalk is a quaint cafe located right in the Gayborhood/ Midtown Village of Philly!

Owned by Daniel Klein, all food items and desserts are baked right on premises! Cake and the Beanstalk now proudly serves Philly’s own, Franklin Fountain ice cream mixed with their delicious bakery items!

I got the “Affogato” which is simply a scoop of your choice of ice-cream soaked in espresso! This is truly a coffee lovers dream!

I highly recommend stopping by Cake and the Beanstalk for a treat to help cool off on these hot summer days!
